Okay seriously, sorry that happened, and make room for me to bang my head on the table too...
I just had a similar experience about thre hours ago, while coloring a damn gorgeous pic of Sword Dancer Sabaah.
I was doing great, up until the hair...luckily have no intent to post it, but I'm back to square one.
*whimper*
Still though, that's really beautiful design nonetheless.

I hate when these sorts of things happen.
I used to use satin a lot, and as I'm sure you know, satin + heat = not friends
I've definitely over pressed satin, leaving iron marks.... Not ones that are visible right away, but they're visible. Grr.
